Hey, we got a regional recipe called 'watergruel'!

watergruel

(Hm. does this man have a goatee? )

I always found the recipe sound horrible and never even tried it. Made with pearl barley!
It might serve Pantagruel.

gruel

English gruel is from the Old French via Norman French (in French it's now gruau (related to English grits, German Grütze) from Vulgar Latin grutellum. Isn't this where I came in? (Some other thread.)

This page has just become pantagruelian for me, since a [expletive deleted] Vista update caused both our computers to be running only in safe mode today (at screen resolution of 640x480). Thanks so much Mr Gates for making such delightful products.

I'm thinking you didn't install your Vista properly. This Vista install tutorial should be of some help. All the required tools should be available at any decent office supplies store.

That's very funny! Anyway, to paraphrase Monty Python, "...they got better" (eventually). After trying all sorts of things to fix it, in the end we don't know why, but both machines are now working okay again.
